Getting ready for Christmas

Honestly, I think I'm insane. My husband bought a sugar glider yesterday, mainly for him, but says it's our daughter's Christmas present. She is very cute. I've spend the day making "furniture" for her out of fleece. Once I can finally stop sewing long enough to take some pictures, I'll post the different things I have made for her. The good thing is if I had purchased these items from the man we got the sugar glider from, it would have cost me at least $70, but making them myself cost me under $5. I'm thinking about using the extra fleece I purchased to make more accessories and selling them.

I'm still doing the binding on the 2nd quilt. It's been slower than the Elvis quilt was. It has to be done by Christmas Eve. That's when I'm going to give it to my mom.

Hopefully, I'll be able to post before Christmas. If not, I hope everyone has a Merry Christmas!

Elvis Has Left the Building

Elvis is finally done! I finished the last of the hand stictching last night. It's washed and packed ready to be wrapped for Christmas. She is going to be so surprised! Now I have to finished the other quilt by Tuesday.

I don't know why I'm doing this to myself, but I've decided to teach myself how to knit as well. This way, I can always have a project going. It's actually going pretty well. I'm not making anything in particular at the moment, just a bunch of stitches. It will probably be the size of a doll blanket when I'm finished. We'll see!

Elvis Quilt

One of the quilts I am working on is an Elvis quilt for my 7-yr-old daughter. She LOVES Elvis! Anyway, today I have to bind the quilt. I'm scared to death. I don't want to mess this up. I guess there's nothing I can do but suck it up and do it. That's the only way I'm going to learn, right?

Anyway, hope everyone has a great day. Happy Sewing!

Hello Everyone

Well, this is the first post of my new blog. I am a stay-at-home-mom who loves to sew. I am currently learning how to quilt. I'm not taking a class, just getting my information from the internet. I am currently working on 2 different quilts. Hopefully, I will have both of them finished by Christmas. I plan on posting pics of the quilts as I finish them.

I hope to be able to post more on this blog regularly.

Happy Holidays!
