Happy Valentine's Day!
I'm not particularly fond of this "holiday". I make sure I tell my husband every year, "Please do not spend any money on flowers." Don't get me wrong, I love them. I just don't love to spend money on them. They are just going to die anyway. If you are going to buy me something, I want it to be practical, something I will use, not watch die. :) Take the Silhouette Cameo for example. I would love to get one of these for Valentine's Day. My husband has heard me talking about it, but he wouldn't have a clue as to where to buy it. I did hint (not so subtly) that I would like a Kindle Fire since we finally have wireless Internet. I already own a Kindle, but I can't wait to get the Fire. This probably won't happen today either, so I'll keep it on my wish list for future holidays. Mother's Day is not that far away ;)
Speaking of buying the Cameo...Are you planning on buying, or do you already own, a Silhouette Cameo? I am planning on buying it for myself in the very near future. Here's what I learned today. Actually, two things. First, you can buy the Silhouette Cameo on Amazon with vinyl for $269. Second, Silhouette gives away a weekly design. Even if you don't already have the Silhouette, you can download the program to your computer and start getting these free designs. So this way you will have a larger library once you actually get your machine. I'm sooooo excited! I've been seeing the free designs, but didn't think I could get them until I had the Cameo.
I have a couple of projects I'm working on. Hopefully, I can get them finished and show you what I've been up to very soon!

Newest Family Member
Here is the newest member of our family. We have not decided on a name yet. She is a 6-month old Ragdoll kitten. So far, this is all she has done today, sleep. We were surprised that she and my 5-year-old Shih Tzu are getting along fine. They aren't even fazed by each other at all.
Nothing happening on the sewing front today. I did put my circle quilt in a contest on Facebook. So, I wanted to ask everyone, if you will, please click here to vote for my quilt. THANKS!

Getting Busy
Watching the ball drop in NYC on television really made me want to go visit NYC again. So, my sister and I have decided to go the week of spring break, kid-free, for about 4 days. The only problem...I have no money. I don't work. My husband says if I can come up with the money on my own (not using his paycheck because it pays all the bills and not using any tax money that we may or may not get back) then I can go. What's a girl to do? GET BUSY!
I've had an Etsy shop for a couple of years, but never really kept it stocked. I've sold a few things here and there, but now it's time to get busy. I have added a few quilts and rag bags to the shop. Here is a picture of the new items. I've also added my Etsy shop to the right side of my blog for a quick look at what is availble. If you click on the pictures there (or below) it will take you to my shop.

2012
Hello 2012! Can you believe it? 2011 flew by. So many things have happened this year, the most memorable being that I closed my tanning salon in August after 7 1/2 years. Now I'm a full time housewife (I use this term loosely, LOL) and mom.
This year I'm hoping to get more sewing/craft projects done, including these owl potholders. They are soooo cute! I went to the fabric store today and picked out the fabric (like I don't have enough at home to choose from). I also have a few ideas for different quilts I would like to do this year, including a table runner and table topper.
Of course, I should have put a lot more thought into it before now, but I have been thinking about doing some sort of block of the month or sew-a-long maybe. Haven't quite decided yet, but I will let you know the minute I decide.
I hope 2012 finds you and your family happy and healthy! HAPPY NEW YEAR!
