Selvages

I've always hating throwing away the selvages from my fabric, but had never had a reason to keep them. Well, now I've found a reason. There are so many different things you can make with these selvages...if I had only known :o).

Rag Quilts

Well, it's been a while since I have posted anything. I had a lady ask me last Thursday for 3 rag quilts and she wanted them by Monday. Thank goodness I already had one done and she liked it. It was the purple one in the previous post. (The lady who was going to initially buy it changed her mind.)

All she told me was she wanted one pink and one Clemson, and it didn't matter what other fabrics I put with it. I think these turned out better than the purple one. The only thing I did different was when I washed them I included a towel in the wash. I think that helped "rag" the quilt more.

Pictures of Rag Quilt

Here are the pictures of the rag quilt I made. I had to go to my mom's house to wash it. We are still not able to wash clothes at home. Anyway, the colors are more beautiful in person, but at least you get the idea. The back, which I forgot to take a picture of, is identical to the front only not rag. It measures approx. 25 x 25 in.

The cool thing is that I have someone who wants to buy this already and she hasn't even seen it. She's just going on mine and my husband's word on what it looks like. Everything I've made so far I've sold before I get to put it on Etsy.

By the way, I've also started making Scrabble tile pendants. I'll try to get the pics of those on tomorrow. I have 6 made already and I hope to have a couple of them sold tomorrow. We'll see!

My First Sale!

Yeah!!!! I made my first sale on Etsy yesterday. I'm headed out to the post office as soon as I post this. I hope this is an indication of how the rest of my day will go, who knows.

I'm also working on trying to build up by BeautiControl business. We are an at-home-spa company. I come to you and do a spa for you and a few friends, for free. In return, you can earn free products. Just doing a few spas last spring paid for my family to go to Disney World in September. It's time to get moving again. I have some bills to pay.

Etsy - Here I Come

I finally put some items on Etsy.com to sell. My Etsy store is itsseweasy123. I'm trying to clean out my sewing room and I have come across some items that I had stored in the closet. I'm still working on getting my most recent projects finished so I can get them on Etsy as well. I've finished my rag quilt, except for washing it. We've had some issues with the washer, so as soon as I can, I'll wash it and post pictures. I'll be back soon.

Finally, Pictures

Okay, I've finally sat down at the computer long enough to get my pictures posted. I have pics of my daughter's Elvis quilt, my mom's quilt and pillow and a baby doll quilt and pillow that I made. The baby doll quilt was the first time that I've every done stippling. The other's I quilted were X's or squares. It was a lot of fun. I can't wait until I make my next quilt.

A couple of the pictures aren't the greatest, but you get the idea. The quilt I'm working on right now is a rag quilt (I've never made one of those either). I have a few projects going at the same time. Beside the rag quilt, I'm knitting a small blanket, I've made a cloth-bead necklace, I'm working on a t-shirt for my daughter and a matching tote bag. Once these are finished I'll post more pics.
