I saw this magazine on the internet recently and have been diligently looking for it ever since. I finally found it yesterday at Hancock Fabrics. I've flipped through it, but I haven't had time to really look at all the different blocks. I'm excited to start making some of these wonderful designs.
Speaking of not having any time lately, do you remember that I said I was NOT making anything for Christmas this year. I had decided that everything I was giving as gifts would be purchased? Then, I decided to make my niece a hooded towel. That is finished and turned out beautifully. I actually have a tutorial in the works for that. BUT, I want to know why we quilters do this to ourselves. Okay, it's 6 days til Christmas and what do I do? I volunteer to make a baby quilt that has to be finished by Wednesday night!!!! What was I thinking? This is the busiest time for me with embroidery so I probably won't get much sewing done at work like I usually do.
I went yesterday to Hancock (when I found the magazine) and just bought some fabrics that I thought would be cute. I had a pattern in my mind, sort of. I really didn't know how much I would need of each fabric. I just bought what felt right :) You know, if you have a little left over that's okay, right? Today after church I sat down and cut out all of the material and actually have all of the squares sewn into rows. I have to sew these rows together now. I hope to have time to do that at work tomorrow. I'm so excited about this quilt now. I appliqued the baby's name on it, which I've never done, and it looks so cute. It's only 36 x 36 so hopefully it won't take that long.
I will definitely be posting pictures when I get this done. I didn't have my camera with me today or I would tease you a little bit :)
Hope you have a wonderful week!
That magazine looks great, enjoy it - and wow, a baby quilt that quick? Sounds like you're doing great!
